Hypnosis

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness where you become hyper-suggestible. It is similar to guided meditation. However, unlike guided meditation, the client is invited to go into a deep level of relaxation. During hypnosis, the hypnotist takes the client on a journey describing images to make suggestions to the subconscious mind which only speaks with visuals. Indirectly, this can impact us to change our habits and tendencies.

We help everyday people with everyday problems like smoking, trouble sleeping, test anxiety, or fear of flying to name a few examples. The style of hypnosis we provide is 100% positive and described as progressive relaxation. This means we slowly go into a state of hypnosis and after hypnosis, we slowly return to the conscious world. During and after hypnosis, it is common to feel a sense of peace, calm and relaxation.

Hypnosis FAQs

Am I going to cluck like a chicken? Or do other silly things while getting hypnotized?

No. This type of hypnosis is to help you reach your goals. Doing silly things is more stage-show style of hypnosis which we do not practice.

Am I going to tell secrets when I'm hypnotized?

No. You are in control when you are hypnotized. If you wouldn't tell those secrets in the conscious world, you wouldn't tell them under hypnosis.

Are you going to make me do things I wouldn't normally do like rob a bank?

No. Your morals are still in place while experiencing hypnosis. If you wouldn't do it in your everyday life, you won't do it in hypnosis.

What if I get “stuck” in hypnosis?

Not at all. During a hypnosis session, the hypnotist slowly brings you back to the conscious world at the end. Hypothetically, if the hypnotist left the room in the middle of your session and didn't return, you'd wake up out of hypnosis in a few minutes.

What can hypnosis help with?

It can help ordinary everyday people with ordinary everyday problems. It can help with nearly any habit or concern you may have. For example, it could help with weight loss, pain reduction, better sleep, general anxiety, test anxiety, sports performance, fear of spiders, fear of flying, smoking, fertility, birthing and the list goes on and on.

What does it feel like when you're hypnotized?

During and after hypnosis, it is common to feel a sense of peace, calm and relaxation.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on the concern you want to work on. For example, smoking cessation is typically one session while others like pain reduction and weight loss may involve multiple sessions.

What can I do to prepare for my hypnosis session?

Avoid caffeine on the day of your appointment. Wear or bring with you comfortable clothing.

How does hypnosis work?

During your session, the hypnotist takes you on a journey and describes imagery that indirectly has to do with what you want to work on. This imagery speaks to your subconscious mind which only understands visuals. Working with the subconscious mind where habits are embedded, the hypnotist and client are able to make changes for the better.

What Our Clients Say

“Lynn is the most empathetic, expert care provider you’ll find. Her warmth, openness, and deep kindness pair with her encyclopedic knowledge of ways to help....Hypnotherapy can be a powerful addition to a person’s weight-management toolkit. Our sessions have made a difference in my self-talk and the way I approach food choices and their results. This has been the kindest, most compassionate path I’ve experienced in a pursuit that can so often be full of self-recrimination … and I far prefer it. Not sure if hypnotherapy is for you? Neither was I, and I’m very glad I tried it. You’ll be safe in Lynn’s care as she helps you become better able to care for yourself.”

Deb, Berwyn

“[Getting hypnosis] has helped me dissolve the barriers around the stories I've hung onto that keep me from prioritizing my health...[Since hypnosis] I've started being more mindful around binging and 'mindless' snacking, listening more to my body's needs...I felt more in touch with my physical self. I reached for produce more as a first step rather than [an] afterthought.”
