Massage

Massage involves applying pressure, manipulating, pressing, rubbing, and stretching muscles and other soft tissues. It has been around for 5000 years and practiced across the globe. Massage can help people with acute and chronic pain in the neck, back, shoulder, and hips, just to name a few areas. Massage can also be beneficial for people experiencing headaches and migraines. Because our minds and bodies are connected, massage can also provide an increased sense of well-being and can help with emotional concerns such as stress, anxiety, and depression.

In your first session, the massage therapist talks to you about what health goals you want to achieve. Taking a holistic approach the massage therapists assess clients before working on them to see which type of massage best addresses their concerns. Your session may include any combination of Swedish massage, relaxation massage, sports massage, circulatory, deep tissue or functional movement technique. To that end, our massage therapists work with clients to design a treatment plan that is right for them.

What Our Clients Say

“Angelique’s treatment has complemented the acupuncture (they are studying acupuncture as well as being expert in massage). It’s all about balance and wholeness. There are no silos here—it’s a team effort, and it works wonderfully. They really care about your health, and that makes all the difference.”

Jeff S., Oak Park

“I ...recently, had my first massage ever at Palmgren and Angelique...is not only very skilled, but is also someone who listens, evaluates, and does a great job explaining their methods and recommendations. ...[T]he massage left me feeling much better and significantly reduced my back pain. All in all, I could not be happier with my experience at Palmgren and I highly recommend their services.”
