This easy black bean recipe is delicious and very nourishing for the blood. It makes a great make ahead of time breakfast. It is also a very versatile recipe, feel free to take out or substitute ingredients to your liking. We recommend eating it warm with tortilla chips. Enjoy!

Serves 3-4 entrees

Prep time 10 min, cook time 15 min

Ingredients:

1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed

½ bell pepper, any color, seeded and diced

2 tomatoes, medium sized

½ c of onion, chopped

1 T olive oil

Juice of ½ lemon

½ t of cumin

½ t of paprika

Very tiny sprinkle of cinnamon

Sprinkle of oregano, dried

Salt and pepper to taste

Red pepper flakes (optional)

Heat pan on stove on medium-high heat. Add olive oil. Once oil is heated through, add tomatoes, bell peppers, and onion. Cook until tender. Add black beans and lemon juice. Add cumin, paprika, cinnamon, oregano, salt and pepper and gently stir. Once black beans are heated through, remove from heat. Add additional oil and spices if needed. Enjoy warm.
